The body has been designed to renew itself through continuous self-correction. These same principles also apply to the healing of psyche, spirit, and soul.

WHAT IS SOMATIC EXPERIENCING?

Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) is a body-oriented approach for working with stress, overwhelm and the effects of challenging experiences. Our nervous system continuously responds to what happens around and within us. When something feels stressful or overwhelming, the body mobilizes resources to help us respond. This activation can remain present even after the situation has passed. We may experience this as tension, anxiety, restlessness, difficulty relaxing, exhaustion, irritability or feeling physically or emotionally shut down.

SE invites us to gently notice what is happening in the body here and now — sensations, impulses, emotions, thoughts and subtle shifts in activation. Rather than analyzing or repeatedly revisiting difficult experiences, we explore them in small, manageable steps. A central principle of SE is titration: approaching activation gradually and staying within a range that feels manageable. By moving between moments of activation and moments of relative ease, we can explore how the nervous system responds and potentially develop greater capacity, flexibility and steadiness to meet life’s challenges.

What are Exploration Sessions?

I am currently in the first year of my advanced Somatic Experiencing® training and offer these sessions as an opportunity to gain practical experience while making SE accessible to people who are curious about the approach.

I am not yet a fully certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. These are learning and exploration sessions under supervision within the scope of my current training. They are not a substitute for psychotherapy, medical treatment or professional SE sessions.

For this reason, these sessions are not intended for acute psychological crises, severe mental-health difficulties or working directly with deep or destabilizing trauma. If you are currently experiencing significant psychological distress, please seek support from an appropriately qualified professional.

What to Expect

These sessions are intended for everyday challenges and relatively mild levels of stress or overwhelm, for example:

  • feeling stressed, overwhelmed or anxious; tense, restless or on edge

  • difficulty relaxing or switching off

  • work-related pressure

  • challenging relationship dynamics or conversations

  • recurring reactions or habitual patterns

  • feeling that you have less capacity than usual

  • curiosity about your own nervous system and bodily responses

The intention is not to “fix” something in one session, but to create more space, balance and capacity for meeting life’s challenges with greater steadiness.

There is currently no fixed fee for these sessions. You are welcome to make a donation according to your financial circumstances and what the session was worth to you.

Your contribution supports my continued training and practice, while allowing you to experience Somatic Experiencing in an accessible way.

I will donate 50% of my earnings from these sessions back to the German Somatic Experiencing® association, which in turn supports making Somatic Experiencing available in areas of war, conflict & crisis around the world.
